At the bottom of the majestic peaks of Ortles – Cevedale, in Stelvio National Park, here in Val Venosta there are really fantastic enduro mtb routes. And above all, in Val Venosta and Resia Pass there is a great mountain bike culture which allowed the creation of numerous itineraries that are maintained in an excellent way.

* HOLY HANSEN TRAIL *

START: COVELANO / SILANDRO.
END: COVELANO / SILANDRO.
TOTAL LENGHT: 15,5 km.
UPHILL: Pedaled or Bike Shuttle.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 840 mt.
TIME TO RIDE : almost 1 hour.

Holy Hansen Trail is a South Tyrolean classic, and you can’t say you’ve ridden here without trying it! It is a relatively short trail, in fact in the same day it can be linked with other nearby itineraries. The uphill can be done either pedaling or using the bike shuttle vans. Although we personally advise you to get there by pedaling on the easy access road in the woods.

All in the woods, the itinerary is one of the most beautiful Flow Trails ever ridden! An apotheosis of berms and jumps, never too extreme, interspersed with pieces of natural path with roots and single track. Once finished you will immediately want to make another one!

* DREILANDER ENDURO TOUR *

START: RESIA LAKE.
END: RESIA LAKE.
TOTAL LENGHT: 44 km.
UPHILL: Lift + Pedaled.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 3.900 mt.
TIME TO RIDE : almost 6 hours with stops.

The Dreilander Enduro Tour is the Three Nations Enduro Tour. It is so called because, starting from Italy, it goes through Switzerland and Austria allowing us to touch three countries in a single itinerary. The Dreilander is a classic Mega Enduro Tour, like the ones we have in Switzerland and France, and it would not be possible to close it in one day without the help of the lifts.

Starting from the splendid postcard view of Resia Lake , you will be catapulted into breathtaking enduro descents! The terrain here is very natural, with jumps and roots making it quite technical and not rideable by all bikers. The Alpine Single Track trails require a good driving skills of the bike going downhill, and obviously given the length of the itineraries also a good dose of physical endurance: THIS IS NOT A TOUR FOR BEGINNERS.

Our Mountain Bike Trip in Switzerland ends under the shadow of the Mattherhorn, or Cervino (in italian), perhaps the mountain symbol of the Alps with its triangular pyramid shape. We are in Zermatt, an icon of the Alps, an emblem of winter sports and homeland of mountaineering, and, coincidentally, a fantastic mountain biking destination. Zermatt was our latest discovery, but we immediately fell in love with its Spectacular Trails! Just think that here it is possible to start a tour with your bike , always helped by the fast lifts, from an altitude of 3400 meters on a single track path! Absurd and unthinkable anywhere else in the Alps.

Zermatt is one of the best-known ski resorts in the Alps, boasting one of the best lift networks in the world. Always present the iconic figure of Mount Matterhon / Cervino with its North face, Zermatt is also an example of environmental sustainability as it is the Only Alpine Village to have totally closed its access to traffic to motor vehicles. In fact, Zermatt can only be reached by train, parking the car in the village of Täsch a few kilometers down on the valley.

It is therefore no coincidence that the Enduro World Series, the top enduro mountain bike competition in the world, has chosen Zermatt for more than 2 years now as the super final stage of its circuit. The mountain bike trails are endless, all with more than 1000 meters of descent and all natural style, there are only a couple of machine-built Flow Trail lines.
The best here is absolutely the Natural All Mountain Riding and the superb views of the Matterhon / Cervino which is reflected in the alpine lakes, giving us unforgettable days on mountain bike.

* ON THE TRAILS OF THE ENDURO WORLD SERIES *

START: ZERMATT.

TIME TO RIDE : almost 6 hours with stops.

Want to challenge the champions of the Enduro World Series? Or at least try 🙂 by tackling their race course… Then this is the tour for you. A Mega Enduro tour with 4.500 meters of downhill vertical drop, composed by 5 stages, one more beautiful than the other. As with all other mega enduro tours, we can decide to divide it into 2 days to calmly savor the magnificent views of the Matterhon / Cervino.

The Itinerary starts and ends in Zermatt Village, reaching a maximum altitude of 3.270 meters above sea level, obviously with the help of the modern cable cars and funiculars of the lift network, and with light pedaling ascents. The Alpine Single Track trails require a good driving skills of the bike going downhill, and obviously given the length of the itineraries also a good dose of physical endurance: THIS IS NOT A TOUR FOR BEGINNERS.

* MATTERHORN ALL MOUNTAIN TOUR *

START: ZERMATT.
END: ZERMATT.
TOTAL LENGHT: 55 km.
UPHILL: Pedaled+ Lift.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP:2250 mt. 
TIME TO RIDE : almost 8 hours with stops.

A more “All Mountain Style” oriented tour than the previous one. This itinerary is perfect, indeed super recommended, with a pedal assisted enduro Ebike. With the exception of the first uphill with lifts (necessary to complete the tour in a reasonable time), this is a totally pedaled itinerary. It starts from the Matterhorn / Cervino ridge going down a single track under the huge glacier of the north face, you can say you have placed the wheels of your mountain bike on the most famous mountain in the Alps.

The itinerary has two more pedaled ascents, not steep but quite long, which take us to the opposite side of the Matterhorn / Cervino glacial valley. We will stop in a couple of alpine huts where we will be able to find drinking water and take a well-deserved break for a lunch at high altitude to recharge before the last descent on a single track in the woods down to the village of Zermatt.

We are still on tour with our Mountain Bike in beautiful Switzerland, and today we go to Davos, another pearl of the Canton of Grisons, The Home of Trails! Davos, like the previous places we have visited, is one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, chosen by many international jet set VIPs for their holidays. In its summer guise it becomes a little less “aristocratic” and more biker friendly, offering us a Bike Arena with more than 200 km of single track trails, with a more natural and less build trails than the other destinations: here the trails are more technical, but in any case the vast choice allows bikers of all skill levels to find fun in complete safety!

Davos is located in a valley further north than the Engadine and Lenzerheide, almost at the border with Austria. Here too we are surrounded by Majestic Alpine Peaks with trails that wind from over 2800 meters above sea level and connected by a large and fast network of lifts. The gem for Gravity lovers is also a Bike Park line (the only one present, the rest remains all natural trail) called Grisons A-Line with beautiful wooden bridges reminiscent of the style of Canada and Whistler.

* DAVOS BAHNEN TOUR 10K  *

START: DAVOS.
END:DAVOS.
TOTAL LENGHT: 115 km.
UPHILL: Pedaled+ Lift.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 10.000 mt. 
TIME TO RIDE :almost 6 hours with stops.

With no doubt the most famous Mtb Tour of Davos is one of the must rides of all the Alps! If you can complete it in just one day, it means that you are a real biker!!! TEN THOUSAND METERS OF DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP, this is what the Davos Bahnen Tour 10k promises… To be more relaxed, for an enduro with no rush as we like, you can also decide to split the tour into two days, stopping to stay overnight in one of the beautiful Bike Hotels in the Davos Valley. But if we want to take home the crown of the ten thousand meters of descent in a single day, it is good to leave very early, no later than 08.20 am (lifts opening time) and arrive in a good training shape even with a pedal assisted Ebike . The tour is not fully signposted therefore we really recommend being accompanied by a Mtb Guide because it is very easy to get lost among the various forks of the many trails that make up the whole tour. Essential to have Gps Track and Road Book.

As in the Enduro World Series, this tour is divided into 8 stages, with short ascents on pedals, most of uphill take place with the use of the lifts. It starts from Davos in the village and goes up with the funicular up to Weissfluh, from here with a slight ascent you arrive at the Strela Pass panoramic point in a sublime alpine environment, to then descend on a fast and pleasant single track down to Glaris . With another lift you’ll  reach the opposite side with the descent of the beautiful Rinerhorn trail entirely in the woods. The following stages develop in the Davos Gotschna and Madrisa Areas and it’s one more beautiful than the other, with the gem of the gravity descent of the Grisons A-Line. This Mtb Tour will truly and literally leave you breathless! Absolutely a must to try.

* ALPS EPIC TRAIL IMBA *

START: DAVOS.
END:FILISUR.
TOTAL LENGHT: 40km.
UPHILL: Pedaled (optional uphill with lift).
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 3055 mt. 
TIME TO RIDE : almost 8 hours with stops.

The Apotheosis of the All Mountain Mtb Tour! This itinerary is perfect, indeed super recommended, with a pedal assisted enduro Ebike. With the exception of the first uphill (which can also be pedaled) the Alps Epic Trail does not use lifts and the uphills are all pedaled. This is the longest linear mountain bike tour in all of Switzerland, and has been awarded the title of “Epic Trail” by IMBA, the International Mountain Bike Association. It is the only one in the Alps to have this award, and to obtain it, the tour must have certain requirements, including having 80% or more of the course on natural single track. The Alps Epic Trail Davos therefore belongs to the elite of the best mountain bike trails in the world. One more reason to brag about having riding it.

The trail develops in a harmonious up and down between the summit of Davos Jakobshorn (also reachable by cable car, the only lift we are allowed to take on this tour) to descend 3055 meters of pure fun, never difficult or dangerous, down to Filisur at the entrance to the Davos valley. You will pass majestic landscapes in the narrow gorges of the canyons crossed by the railway viaducts and with the necessary stops once in Filisur (or even earlier during the journey) you will be able to enjoy an excellent restorative lunch and return to Davos with the Swiss Railway Train .

Mountain Bike and Enduro Ebike : The Big 3 of Stelvio Pass

For all of us, the Stelvio Pass is synonymous of racing & road bikes, the Giro d’Italia, and the legendary Fausto Coppi, after whom is named the Summit at an altitude of 2758 meters .

However, very few people know that Stelvio Pass is also the site of fantastic Mountain Bike Enduro Trails: long and tiring, but as rewarding as the uphill feats of our “cousins” on the road bikes.

NUMBER 1 : GOLDSEE / BIM BAM TRAIL

START : STELVIO PASS.
END : PRATO ALLO STELVIO.
TOTAL LENGHT: 30 km.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP : 1947 mt
TIME TO RIDE : almost 6 hours with stops.

Described as the most beautiful MTB TRAIL in the Alps… We certainly put this on our Top 10.
It starts from Passo Stelvio with a first ascent of about 100 meters to Garibaldi Hut Refuge. From here starts the path that leads to the Golden Lake, the Goldsee from which the trail takes its name. Pay Attention to Pedestrians, the first part of this path is very popular (choose the time of year carefully). The Trail is open to the bicycles, in its first part up to the Golden Lake, until 10.am in the morning, so it is very recommended to calculate the riding times properly. This first part is soo scenic, the panoramas of the peaks surround a fast single track on gravel and rock: it seems to be on the Moon.

Once past the Golden Lake, the descent continues with a nice flow, a few tight turn never too extreme and a couple of steps to jump to feel like a pro :-)…

The alpine trail part trail now gives way to a beautiful pine and fir forest where you can go full gas to enjoy a spectacular single track in the carpet of pine needles and loam. Not even the time to realize how beautiful the descent was and you’ve already reached Trafoi??? Yes, but it’s not over yet because you’re only halfway through your Tour. From Trafoi, take the chairlift up to the Forcola Refuge, where you can rest yourself and take a well-deserved lunch break. From here another 600 meters of pedaled uphill and you will face the last descent into the woods straight up to Prato allo Stelvio collecting almost 2000 meters of downhill vertical drop.

NUMBER 2 : PIZ UMBRAIL

START : STELVIO PASS.
END : BORMIO VALTELLINA
TOTAL LENGHT: 30 km.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP : 1750 mt.
TIME TO RIDE : almost 6 hours with stops.

Piz Umbrail is another of those itineraries that HAVE be in the bucket list of every Mtb enthusiast, one MUST in every sense.
It is here that the words MOUNTAIN BIKE take on their true and original meaning!
It always starts from the the Stelvio Pass, and as for the previous trail you will have to go up to the Garibaldi Hut Refuge. From here a nice appetizer: a tasty single track between the trenches will quickly take you to the Umbrail Pass near the Swiss Border. From now on, legs on the shoulder because we’re starting to climb for real.

The goal is right above your head: the forgotten Peak of Piz Umbrail. Be careful because the climb is not easy, we are in a High Mountain environment with quite exposed passages: nothing extreme that can be absolutely done with a minimum of preparation, but be CAREFUL! Towards the summit there are short passages that you will have to climb by a via ferrata-style chain on loose stones, and with the bike on your shoulder in portage. After that you will be able to enjoy the priceless view over the whole Valtellina, Switzerland and the Venosta Valley ,from the Summit at an altitude of 3.030 metres.

Then the descent starts. The first sections are a bit rough but you’ll soon gain confidence and let yourself go towards one of the most beautiful single track ever done, towards Lake Rims, a mandatory break for the classic photo, and then down again towards Santa Maria in Switzerland. At this point you will have to take the crossroads towards Val Mora, re-entering in italian territory, and after about an hour of pleasant ups and downs you will have arrived to the Cancano Lakes; here also the surrounding is like a postcard.

From Cancano Lakes you can decide whether to continue towards Livigno, with the beautiful Alpisella – Trela ​​trail, or descend towards Bormio (shorter), by one of the many paths.
But if you’re already tired, it’s better to stay on the road and get off at Bormio easily.

NUMBER 3 : TIBET TRAIL

START : STELVIO PASS / TIBET HUT REFUGE.
END : TRAFOI.
TOTAL LENGHT: 13 km.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP : 1510 mt.
TIME TO RIDE : almost 3-4 hours with stops.

If you like to put your tires in the snow this is the trail for you! We are in the heart of the Stelvio face to face with the Majestic Glaciers, which unfortunately are heading towards a slow and inexorable decline. So take advantage now before it’s too late!
The view is rated 10, perhaps the most beautiful of the BIG 3 of Stelvio Pass: here you really feel in the heart of the mountains! The descent, well you must like driving on tight turns… Someone has counted and on this Trail there are about 130: so Nose Press and trained legs…

You can decide whether to start from the Tibet Hut Refuge, just above the Cima Coppi of the Stelvio Pass, or reach the 3000 meters of the Piccolo Pirovano Hut Refuge, and start your descent from the perennial snow of the Stelvio Glacier. To evaluate the starting based on the snow and the weather. The descent towards Trafoi is a succession of tight turns and single track at the bottom of the Ortles and the Vedretta del Madaccio Mountains. After a pleasant stretch in the woods, you arrive at Trafoi. If you are still not satisfied, you can continue your Tour with the ascent by chairlift to the Forcola Hut and descent to Prato allo Stelvio as the Goldsee / Bim Bam Trail.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT: Mtb Enduro or Ebike Full Suspension (at least 130 mm travel), Backpack with spare inner tubes, water and food (bars, etc.), spare layer, kway shell, open all-mountain helmet and protections.

Today we want introduce you at 2 Mega Enduro Tours in the Dolomites: the first is the famous Sella Ronda, the tour of the 4 most famous mountain passes in the Dolomites. We offer it in a gravity version, mixed pedaling + lifts, and in two days, to enjoy full of gorgeous views taking your time. The second tour, less known, is the Piz Enduro, a more pedaled variant at the bottom of the Sassongher Massif. Both of these tours are on single track trails, descents on natural terrain alternating with some stretches of flow trail. Who doesn’t know the Sella Ronda ski tour in winter? One of the most famous tours in the Alps and one of a kind. Well, our friends in the Dolomites had the fantastic idea of ​​re-proposing this tour also in the summer version on mtb. The Sella Ronda is the tour of the 4 mountain passes of the Dolomites (Pordoi Pass, Sella Pass , Gardena and Campolongo Pass), born first as a cross country marathon race, an event that attracts many enthusiasts from all over the world every year, but it can also be done in the gravity enduro version, with routes designed for the descent, the one we like best!

The tour is a round trip with departure and arrival on Fassa Valley in the Village of Canazei. We have done it several times and we have studied our own version of the tour, with a mix of lifts (for the higher altitude differences), but not forgetting also some beautiful pedal uphill under the Sella and Sassongher massifs that make this tour truly complete. The descents ? They are one more beautiful than the other, some longer or others more scenic, natural single tracks in the woods, flow trails and even a bit of  bike park with Canazei descents at the end of the tour.
We have decided to split this itinerary in 2 days riding, to get around more comfortably and without rush about returning; in this way we are sure that we will enjoy the spectacle of the Dolomites in an enduro version, with an overnight stay in a comfortable bike hotel with bike storage and workshop, and obviously a mega breakfast included the next morning to get off for a great start!

* PIZ ENDURO TOUR *

START: BADIA.
END: CORVARA OR BADIA.
TOTAL LENGHT: 40 km.
UPHILL: Only Pedaled or Pedaled+ Lift depending on the options.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP : 3000 mt. 
TIME TO RIDE : 4 / 6 / 8 hours depending on the options with stops.

A more “All Mountain Style” tour than the previous one. At least if you want to give up the ascent with lifts and tackle the itinerary or part of it on pedals. The Tour takes place entirely in Badia Valley, at the bottom of the Sassongher Massif, in the Badia – San Cassiano – Corvara triangle. This itinerary is perfect, indeed super recommended, with a pedal assisted enduro Ebike. Starting from Badia, the first descent from La Crusc to La Villa is a postcard of the Dolomites, a perfect path in a wonderful setting with a view of Sassongher all the way.

A little detour, where we advise you to take the lift to ride a couple of descents, are the fantastic flow trails of Piz Sorega in San Cassiano, served by a fast cable car: modern flow trails with berms and jumps absolutely NOT EXTREME, for everybody, and built very well. The tour then continues from Piz Sorega with a panoramic up and down that crosses the Pralongià Plateau to finish with a beautiful panoramic descent to Corvara. From here you can decide to extend the tour towards Colfosco and Gardena Pass or to return on the panoramic path to the start of the tour in Badia.

After St. Moritz and the Engadin, our Mountain Bike Trip continues in the heart of Switzerland and Grisons, stopping in Lenzerheide and Arosa. We have to admit, this is the place that surprised us the most: it really seems to be inside a postcard!

Lenzerheide and Arosa are located in 2 parallel valleys but form a single area, connected by very fast lifts of the latest generation. The view from the top of the Rothorn Parpaner cable car is a spectacular starting point for many Mtb Enduro Tours in the area. Lenzerheide is also famous for hosting the stage of the UCI World Cup and the Mountain Bike World Championships every year, having one of the best Gravity Bike Park in the Alps. Obviously, the single track trails network are also first class, especially those in the high mountain, among the best ever tried.

So let’s jump on bike and start to explore Lenzerheide and Arosa with its Mountain Bike and Ebike Enduro Itineraries.

* TOUR MEGA ENDURO LENZERHEIDE and AROSA HORNLI FLOW TRAIL *

START: LENZERHEIDE.
END: LENZERHEIDE.
TOTAL LENGHT: 30 km (short version) 50 km (long version).
UPHILL: Pedaled+ Lift Tram.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 1500 mt. (short version) 2000 mt. (long version).
TIME TO RIDE : almost 6 hours with due breaks.

This is absolutely one of the most spectacular Tours that can be done by Mountain Bike or Ebike in the Alps! It combines high mountain alpine single track, new generation flow trail and a bike park line for every bikers skill level! We can choose two versions, one longer and the second equally if not more beautiful, reduced to 30 km. In any case, the itinerary is long, so it is recommended to arrive well prepared to stay on the bike for more than 5 hours, obviously with the necessary breaks and without haste. It is a ring tour with departure and arrival at the same point, (another great convenience), at the base of the Lenzerheide Lifts. From here we can decide whether to pedal the first stretch or to arrive with the comfortable cable car at the base of the Rothorn Parpaner Tramway, which will take us to the highest point of our tour at 2850 meters.

From here the view is spectacular, and the environment is high mountain with one of the most fantastic mtb single tracks of all the Alps, that will take us down to the village of Arosa. From here we can repeat, pedaling the ascent, the new Hornli Flow Trail with berms and jumps, all super safe, very well built and maintained. We will then return to the Lenzerheide valley after a short uphill stretch and an exciting descent with the final part in the Bike Park line, where we can choose between routes of varying difficulty. We recommend the Prime Line Red Line for intermediate level bikers or the Blue Line (Flow line) for basic level bikers.

* TOUR  LENZERHEIDE WEST SIDE *

START: LENZERHEIDE.
END: LENZERHEIDE.
TOTAL LENGHT: 28 km.
UPHILL: Pedaled+ Lift Cable Car.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 1200 mt.
TIME TO RIDE : almost 5 hours with due breaks.

This Tour takes place in the western part of the Lenzerheide Valley, on the opposite side of the previous itinerary. The slopes here are more gentle and it is therefore practicable even by a basic level biker: the perfect All Mountain Tour! It starts from the village of Lenzerheide taking the lifts that lead to the top of Piz Scalottas. From there we can enjoy a wonderful 360 degree panoramic view.

With a nice up and down, we arrive first in Parpan and then to Chur, the capital of Grisons, where we will be able to take a lunch break in the various bars or cafes. So we take the lifts to make our descent to Lenzerheide in a fairytale single track immersed in the woods to end our tour.
