The first place where we want to take you to is the Engadin, immediately after the Italian border, with St. Moritz. Already renowned and exclusive snow sports resort, St. Moritz doesn’t lose its charm even in summer, and when its winter dress is removed, the mountains trun green to show the fantastic single track mountain bike trails.

The majestic Alpine Peaks of the Engadin surround a Bike Arena which has more than 100 km of single tracks; over the years it has always known how to keep ahead, creating the first Flow Trail in the Alps (the Corviglia Flow Trail) and boasting exemplary maintenance and care of the trails, in perfect Swiss Style.

* TOUR MEGA ENDURO PIZ NAIR and CORVIGLIA FLOW TRAIL *

3D Map Itinerary

START: CELERINA.
END:
CELERINA.
TOTAL LENGHT:
30 km.
UPHILL: pedaled+ Lift Tram.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 1300 mt.
TIME TO RIDE :
almost 6 hours with due breaks.

This is the bike tour that we have rode most of the times in Switzerland, because of the proximity to our home, but above all because it is super fun! It combines the high mountain natural path with the incredible landscapes of the 3000 alpine paeaks, with the endless fun of the Corviglia Flow Trail between berms and super safe jumps that will drive crazy the bikers of all skill levels. The itinerary is quite long so it is recommended to arrive prepared to stay on bike for more than 5 hours, obviously with the necessary breaks and without haste. It is a ring tour with departure and arrival at the same point, (another great convenience), at the base of the St. Moritz / Celerina Lifts. From here with a pedaled ascent on a comfortable and wide path, never steep, we arrive at the departure of the Piz Nair Tramway. We take advantage of the lifts here for the final stretch of the climb, otherwise it would be really tough, to reach the summit of Piz Nair Mountain at 3000 meters.

From here the landscape is a postcard! The Peaks and Glaciers of the Engadin and the splendid Lake of St. Moritz are so amazing… After a few ritual photos we put on the helmet and protections and we are ready to go down to the valley with our mountain bikes. From the summit of Piz Nair there are different descents that we have tried but we prefer the one that takes us back to the base of the cable car. It is a beautiful alpine single track dug into the rock, very fast and without particular exposed passages. Second part of the descent, on a machine groomed trail, is the fantastic Corviglia Flow Trail.

Between berms and jumps, all super safe, built and maintained so good, this really long but extra fun Flow Trail will take us to the town of St. Moritz and then return to the starting point at the base of the Celerina lifts.

* TOUR BERNINA EXPRESS *

3D Map Itinerary

START: ST. MORITZ or BERNINA PASS (Ospizio Bernina)
END:
POSCHIAVO
TOTAL LENGHT:
30 km.
UPHILL: pedaled or bernina red train.
DOWNHILL VERTICAL DROP: 1270 mt.
TIME TO RIDE :
almost 6 hours with due breaks.

Bernina Express is for sure the best known Mountain Bike Tour in Switzerland! And that’s the one we at Viaggi Sport tried first, which made us fall in love with this place and then pushed us to explore all its other mountain bike destinations. Over the years many improvements have been made on these trail and today Bernina Express is a perfect example of All Mountain Tour, with an ideal balance between ascent and descent. We can start this tour choosing from St. Moritz or (as we recommend) from Bernina Pass, perhaps spending the night here at the Ospizio Bernina, which is also an excellent Bike Hotel. In this way we can tackle the itinerary with more calm and without the long ascent from St. Moritz, which we can remedy in any case with the Bernina Red Train, an excellent help to get to on the top.

From Bernina Pass the view will leave you breathless: pedaling in front of the majestic Alpine Glaciers of Morteratsch and Piz Palù is an experience that every biker must do at least once in his life! Thus leaving the alpine peaks behind us we enter the part of the wood with a nice single track that runs alongside the Bernina Red Train, very fun and never demanding, with a last part of the semi-groomed Flow Trail that takes us quickly to Poschiavo, the final point of the Tour. From here we can take the Bernina Red Train and optionally stop at the Bernina Pass to get off by bike in the opposite direction towards St. Moritz or come back directly to the starting point by train.
