The oldest Way of Camino de Santiago de Compostela. A unique and unforgettable experience. Viaggi Sport offers you this trekking in 5 stages by foot with departure from Sarria. You will travel the last 100 km by foot, and you can also request the “Compostela”, certificate of the pilgrimage issued by the Cathedral of Santiago.

Walking Route, 100 km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela in the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims.
It is the French Way of the Camino de Santiago that crosses the small villages of Galicia, immersed in a peaceful rural atmosphere.

Accommodation is in typical Hotels located on the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage Route, with breakfast included.
Departures are free, from April 1st until October 31st. Our offer does not include the flight, but we are at your disposal to book it for you.

The stages follow the original path of the French Way and take place on unpaved paths.
We recommend you to bring, in addition to normal baggage *:

A small backpack, to carry water, fruit or sweets and personal items with you;
Comfortable clothes and shoes for excursions;
Hats;
Jackets or vests (even in summer the evening refreshes);
K-way Rain Jacket;
If you are unable to continue during the journey due to any difficulty, you can call a taxi from one of the many refreshment points along the way and thus reach the scheduled stop.

* Baggage: The transportation of the baggage from one stage to another is included in the price (max 1 piece per person max 20 kg weight).

TRAVEL EXTENSIONS (extra costs):

It is possible to extend your stay in Santiago de Compostela;
It is possible to book the day trip to Finisterre, which for the Romans marked the end of the earth and the rugged Costa da Morte. In Finisterre, the tradition is that pilgrims burn clothes and shoes worn on the Camino.

And as the Pilgrims say to greet each other along the way: Ultreya! Suseya! (Come on, Higher!)

ITINERARY PROGRAM SUGGESTED BUT COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE

Day 1 : Sarria.

Arrival in Sarria, accommodation and overnight stay in Hotel in Sarria.

Day 2 : Sarria - Portomarin (22 km).

Breakfast at the Hotel in Sarria and departure for the first stop from Sarria to Portomarín. Route of about 22 km through numerous villages, with historical monuments and ancient churches, such as the Church of Santiago in Viley and Barbadelo, the Lolo Monastery, the cradle of the Knights of the Order of Santiago and the hermitage of Santa Maria di Lolo. And finally you can see the town of Portomarín. Overnight at Hotel in Portomarin.

Day 3 : Portomarin - Palas de Rei (25 km).

Breakfast at the Hotel in Portomarin. After breakfast, the pilgrim returns to the Way, which will slowly travel through many villages in the Galicia region. Along the way, we recommend leaving the main route to get closer to Vilar de Donas, where you can visit the majestic Romanesque temple with Gothic paintings from the 16th century. Then he recovered the main path until he reached Palas de Rei. Overnight at Hotel in Palas de Rei.

Day 4 : Palas de Rei – Arzúa (30 km).

Breakfast at the Hotel in Palas de Rei. After breakfast we leave Palas del Rey through San Juliàn del Camino. It is one of the most beautiful sections of the Way with many interesting sites to see. In Furelos the Way continues on a 14th century medieval bridge, which leads to Melide, where the French Way merges with others from Oviedo. At the entrance to the village there is an ancient stone cross. When crossing Castanda, tradition has it that pilgrims bring one stone each to Santiago, thus increasing their penance. Arrival in Arzúa. Overnight at Hotel in Arzùa.

Day 5 : Arzúa - Arca do Pino (20 km).

Breakfast at the Hotel in Arzùa. The pilgrim cheerfully begins the stage of this day, tomorrow he will enter Santiago de Compostela, where, in addition to visiting first of all the tomb of the Apostle Martyr, many other wonders await him. Today’s path is short and quiet to prepare us for the thrill of entering Santiago. Overnight at Hotel in Arca do Pino.

Day 6 : Arca do Pino - Santiago de Compostela (19 km).

Breakfast at the Hotel in Arca do Pino. The day has come, today we travel the last stage of the Camino de Santiago. In addition to being exciting, for all the spiritual and sentimental charge it has, it is also exhausting. Free meals and overnight in a centrally located Hotel in Santiago de Compostela.

Day 7 : Santiago de Compostela.

Breakfast at the Hotel in Santiago de Compostela. If you have booked an airport transfer, the transfer will be made in time (by our on-site assistance service), from your Hotel to Santiago de Compostela Airport, in cocincidence with your scheduled flight to home. End of the trekking tour.
